SYRACUSE -- Foiled again. Even though B104.7 (WBBS) was nominated in both radio categories for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, the Clear Channel-owned country station came up short in both categories, losing to stations in Ohio, California and Florida.
According to an announcement today on the ACM website, morning show teams from stations in Bakersfield, CA and Lakeland, FL tied for "On-Air Personality of the Year" among nominees from medium markets. B104.7's morning team of Tom Owens and Becky Palmer had been nominated.
In the "Radio Station of the Year" category, a station from Stockton, CA was named the medium market winner.
The national-level award for On-Air Personality of the Year went to CMT Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton. It's his second win.
