OSWEGO -- The State University of New York College at Oswego has a job opening for a broadcast/media engineer. The description doesn't mention WRVO, the powerhouse NPR affiliate located on-campus, but rather, the student-run facilities including WNYO-FM 89.9, cablecast WTOP 10, along with the school's academic audio and video production facilities.
The job is posted now on SUNY Oswego's web site. Applications will be reviewed starting on April 16, and continuing until the position is filled.
Requirements include a bachelor's in broadcast or electrical engineering OR a bachelor's in broadcasting/communications plus an associate's in broadcast or electrical engineering. The position also requires knowledge of FCC regulations, industry best practices and 2-5 years experience in radio and TV operations, including HD.
Bonus points for applicants who also hold a graduate degree, FCC First Class license, prior collegiate teaching/training experience, or any combination of the above.
We're always more than happy to help spread the word about job openings in local broadcasting -- as a free service both to broadcast outlets and job seekers alike. Anytime you've got a job opening at your local radio or TV station, just email the details (or a link to a web page) to cnyradio@cnyradio.com. Even if you're not an "official" with a local broadcast outlet, you can still email us any jobs you see or hear about... as long as we can confirm the job is open, we'll post the info no matter who sends in the initial tip.
