SYRACUSE -- Longtime TK99 morning host Glenn "Gomez" Adams is now a published author. You can grab a signed copy of "You're Caller Number 7, Please Try Again" at the book's official launch party tonight. If you can't make it, you can buy a print or electronic copy of the book online.

According to the TK99 Facebook Page, Adams will be signing copies of the book at the Wildcat Sports Pub in Camillus from 5-7pm. If you can't make it, Adams said he's scheduling a few other signing sessions, including one set for January at the Barnes & Noble in Clay.

The book is also available via Amazon in paperback format for $15.99 or in electronic Kindle format for $9.99.

Here's the 205-page book's description as posted on Amazon:

For over four decades, Gomez Adams has been a familiar voice to Syracuse radio listeners, cracking jokes, spinning tracks, and waking up Central New York with a shot of humor, heart, and just a little chaos. Now, the beloved local DJ invites you behind the scenes of his long-running career in radio.

From prank calls and promotional events gone sideways to unforgettable listeners, on-air mishaps, and moments of unexpected tenderness, You're Caller Number Seven, Please Try Again is a laugh-out-loud and surprisingly touching collection of stories that span from the analog '80s to the digital now. Packed with nostalgia, insider quirks, and the kind of tales that only happen in live radio, Gomez's memoir is a love letter to the medium — and to the community that’s tuned in all these years.

Whether you grew up listening to him or just love a good behind-the-scenes antics, this book hits all the right notes.

Recently appearing on "The Jim Reith Show Unleashed Podcast," Adams explained one of the factors in deciding to publish the book is because it's easier now, than it was in years past. Adams said his publisher and Amazon have a system where paperback copies are printed on-demand as ordered… which eliminates the risk of having to print hundreds or thousands of copies, without knowing how many would sell.

As of this writing, Amazon's listing says the paperback can be delivered as soon as the next day, depending on the destination. Of course, if you order the electronic (Kindle) version, you can download it and start reading immediately.

Adams has been with Galaxy Media's classic rock duo TK99/TK105 (WTKW / WTKV) since 1994 and hosts the "Gomez and Company" morning show. According to an article in 55 Plus earlier this fall, Adams started his radio career in 1981 at WRMV 1420 (now WNRS) in Herkimer, before moving to Syracuse to work at Magic 104.7 (now WBBS B104.7), followed by a decade at Y94 (WYYY) before moving to TK99.
