SYRACUSE - Longtime local broadcaster Rick Gary is no longer be working in the studio that bears his name at Sunny 102 (WZUN). Station owner Galaxy Media Partners announced his departure today.
UTICA -- The four towers that used to transmit the signal of 1310 WTLB are no longer standing. Photos shared with CNYRadio.com show that, after decades of service, the towers have been taken down, less than a week after Galaxy Media Partners informed the FCC that the station had been taken off the air.
UTICA/ROME -- Galaxy Media Partners has shut-off WTLB 1310, one of its three AM signals supporting ESPN Radio Utica-Rome. The Syracuse-based company notified the FCC of the shutdown yesterday, claiming it will be temporary.

SYRACUSE -- The staff at Galaxy's classic rock TK99/TK105 (WTKW/WTKV) are planning a special memorial tribute to longtime manager and on-air personality Mimi Griswold. A special 5-hour edition of Griswold's "Blue Moon Cafe" this Sunday will be followed by special programming for the remainder of the day.
SYRACUSE -- Mimi Griswold, a longtime employee of locally-owned Galaxy Media, died on Thursday at the age of 67. While she wore multiple hats within Galaxy, she was perhaps best known for hosting the "Blue Moon Cafe" which aired Sundays on Syracuse's TK99/TK105 (WTKV/WTKW) and Utica's 96.9 WOUR.
SYRACUSE -- We're a bit late on this one, but big news for rock fans: Galaxy Media's KROCK stations are "rebooting" their legendary KRockathon concert series with a day-long concert featuring 6 returning bands at the New York State Fairgrounds in July.
