Syracuse radio listeners now have a brand-new destination for the music they grew up loving. 87.7 The Spot (1st spot on the dial) officially launches with a format dedicated to the biggest hits of the 1990s, along with a touch of 2000s favorites.

From pop and hip-hop to alternative, rock, dance, and rhythmic throwbacks, 87.7 The Spot delivers the soundtrack of an unforgettable generation. The station is designed for listeners who want to relive the energy, excitement, and nostalgia of the era that changed music forever.

Leading the station is veteran radio programmer and Vice President/Station Manager Sam Furco, who says the format fills a major gap in the Syracuse market. “People still love the music of the ‘90s,” said Furco. “These songs bring back memories of high school, road trips, concerts, and great times. 87.7 The Spot is all about playing the hits listeners know and love while creating a fun, upbeat station Syracuse can connect with every day.”

Listeners can expect music from artists including the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, TLC, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Dr. Dre, NSYNC, and more — plus select early 2000s favorites that keep the station fresh and energetic.

87.7 The Spot joins a growing family of radio brands that includes 92.1 The Wolf, 103.9 The Dinosaur, 96.5 The Beat, and Fox Sports 1490, further expanding the company’s presence across Central New York. 87.7 The Spot is now on the air serving Syracuse and Central New York.

As many “in the biz” already know, 87.7FM signal is technically the audio carrier of analog TV channel 6, hence the WQSE-LD call sign ending in -LD (Low-power Digital TV) rather than -FM.
