Citadel Communications President Bob Proffitt has asked his regional engineers to look into the feasibility of running continuous monitors of the group’s stations and hold tapes or transcripts for 60 days.

In the wake of the news that the Citadel-owned stations in Syracuse have returned to streaming their content over the Internet comes word that the Internet-only stations of SyracuseBroadcast.com are on the auction block.

93Q (WNTQ), 95X (WAQX), and Lite 105.9 (WLTI) have resumed streaming of their live signals over the Internet, the first commercial radio stations in Syracuse to do so.

93Q’s morning team of Ted Long and Amy Robbins have released a CD oftheir best on-air bits. The disc, appropriately titled “Ted and Amy’s Greatest Bits – Volume 1”, is available at local P&C stores for $9.93 with $2 from each sale benefiting local children’s charities.

In a display of national unity, as requested by President Bush, radio stations across the country suspended their normal programming at 8:46 this morning, the three-month anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, to play the National Anthem.

In what has become an annual holiday tradition, local rock station 95X last weekend raised $7,500 for the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. An auction of rock-related memorabilia, held at Shoppingtown Mall, included an autographed guitar from Kenny Wayne Shepard and signed South Park dolls.

Last week Y94FM (WYYY) switched to playing all holiday music. This week Lite 105.9 (WLTI) also opted for continuous carols and Christmas songs through December 25.
