SYRACUSE -- Satellite problems contributed to a rocky first day for the debut of CNY Talk Radio (1390 WFBL), but Leatherstocking Media Group management says the glitches are being worked out. CNYRadio.com has also obtained the station's programming lineup, which includes names like Larry King, Phil Hendrie and Jim Bohannon.
PORTLAND, OR -- According to radio-info.com, syndication giant Westwood One has cancelled the Lars Larson show "effective immediately," leaving affiliates to line up replacements. Larson is reportedly seeking a new syndicator so he can stay on the air. (Updated 3/20)
UTICA-ROME -- After four months of "auditioning" his weekend show, Newsradio 950 WIBX is getting ready to bring Glenn Beck into the Mohawk Valley every weekday morning. In a roundabout way, Beck will be replacing Bill O'Reilly.
Nationally syndicated talk host Jim Bohannon has signed a three-year contract extension with Westwood One. Bohannon's late-night call-in show airs on more than 300 radio stations nationwide, including WSYR AM 570 here in Syracuse and WIBX AM 950 in Utica.
