WCNY Nets Area's Only Regional Murrow

SYRACUSE -- The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) 2011 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award Winners have been announced.  Between radio, television and online, WCNY-TV is the only local station to appear on the list.  "Our Veterans and Their Families: 21st Century Challenges" took home the regional Murrow in the Video News Documentary category.

WCNY-TV Cancels One Show, Scales Back Another

SYRACUSE -- Citing a "decline in ratings and funding," WCNY-TV has cancelled WCNY Connected, a weekly lifestyle/entertainment show hosted by 93Q (WNTQ) morning co-hosts Ted Long and Amy Robbins.  Additionally, the station is pushing its long-running Central Issues back to its original weekly format, after trying out the show as a daily offering for awhile.

WCNY Hosting New Year's Party

SYRACUSE -- Public broadcaster WCNY says tickets are still available for "The Party: WCNY's New Year Celebration," happening at the Oncenter Ballroom in Syracuse.  Admission includes food, an open bar and a midnight champagne toast.  For those who prefer a quieter New Year's Eve at home, WCNY will televise the event live.
