OSWEGO -- There won't be any pledge drive breaks during "Foneless February" at WRVO, but there could be pledge drives coming in March if the station doesn't reach its fundraising goals this month. To give listeners an incentive to open their wallets, all pledges will be doubled by a third party, dollar for dollar.

OSWEGO -- It's the biggest night of the year for virtually every newsroom in the country: Election Night. And WRVO is no exception. The station had "all hands on deck" to report the results, along with a few special guests providing analysis.
OSWEGO -- Nearly 7 months after John Krauss retired as GM of the WRVO stations, SUNY Oswego has named his replacement. Dr. Michael S. Ameigh, a longtime professor and assistant provost at the college, has been tapped to become the NPR affiliate's third GM since it debuted in 1969.
OSWEGO -- Even though SUNY Oswego's Communication Studies Alumni Reunion dinner didn't start until 7pm last Saturday, many arrived on campus earlier in the day for a panel discussion, followed by a tour of the school's recently-improved broadcasting facilities.
CORTLAND -- SUNY Cortland's WSUC 90.5, which serves as a part-time simulcast for programming from Oswego's WRVO, has applied for permission to increase its broadcast power levels. This is the second time the FCC has accepted an application for the change, after the original construction permit filed in 2007 expired last week.
SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Press Club has announced its 2010 additions to its Wall of Distinction, the club's highest honor. One local television manager and one recently-retired radio manager are among the honorees.
OSWEGO -- SUNY Oswego alum who majored in radio, television, journalism and communication studies programs are invited back to campus for the Communication Studies Alumni Reunion coming up Saturday, October 9. Registrations are due by October 1st.
OSWEGO -- Citing the success of last year's contest, public broadcaster WRVO is once again inviting listeners to submit artwork that could be used on coffee mugs offered as incentives during WRVO's upcoming fall fundraiser.
OSWEGO -- After four years as an award-winning reporter/producer in the WRVO newsroom, Jasmyn Belcher is packing up and moving to New York City. She's accepted a position as an Associate Producer at StoryCorps, an oral history project that produces interviews heard nationwide on NPR's Morning Edition.
