SYRACUSE — After a blackout lasting nearly three days, Verizon FiOS TV customers can once again watch NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) with their set top boxes.  This, after Verizon and WSYR-TV owner Newport Television reached a new retransmission consent agreement late Sunday afternoon.

UTICA/ROME — A problem with phone service near the Oriskany transmitter site of WUTI is to blame for recent technical difficulties at the talk station.  While the station waits for Verizon to fix the problems, management says an alternate programming delivery method is in the works.

Updated 6pm: SYRACUSE — Time Warner Cable has announced late this afternoon (via Twitter) that it will be adding the HD version of truTV (formerly CourtTV) to its lineups in time for Syracuse University’s first appearance in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday night.

Updated — truTV is now available in HD on both FiOS and Time Warner.
