UTICA-ROME -- It appears that WRUY 1450 is closer to getting back on the air. We've received reports of the station running a loop of "national" PSAs over the weekend, along with an ID for "WRUY 1450AM Rome, Utica, Syracuse, NY."
UTICA/ROME -- Several months after new owners took over WRUY 1450 in Rome, the station remains silent. The FCC originally issued a mid-January deadline for the station to resume broadcasting, but days before the deadline, the Commission approved a request to push the deadline out a few more months.
CNYRadio.com reader Mark Fuller recently wrote to ask, "Does anyone know whats happening with Rome, NY's 1450 AM?" He observes the station has "been silent for months," specifically since May, when Tune In Broadcasting purchased the station from Bible Broadcasting Network. Fuller asks, "what's the sense of buying radio stations only to leave them silent?"
