WCNY TV 24 takes a look back at Central New York's great movie palaces of the past in the 90-minute documentary "Central New York's Picture Palaces" airing tonight at 8 p.m.
The show, hosted by WCNY's midday radio host, Bill Baker, and Karen Colizzi Noonan, president of the Theatre Historical Society of America, explores the history of the elaborately designed theatres, why some suffered the fate of the wrecking ball, and how a few, like The Landmark in Syracuse and The Stanley in Utica have survived.
