Former Kiss-FM Personalities Find New Jobs

November 10, 2009 by

UTICA/ROME -- Two personalities who exited Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) within two days of each other in September have found new jobs in radio.  Former middayer Jesse Jordan has been hired for the same daypart in a significantly larger market down the Thruway, while former night jock "Intern Dave" drops his nickname to fill some shifts at the Regent cluster across town.

Yesterday was Jordan's first day on the air in Rochester, at Entercom's country-formatted Bee 92.5 (WBEE).  Well, first official day -- she now has the midday shift on a permanent basis, after the station first gave her an on-air audition a few weekends ago.  It's quite a leap for Jordan, from market rank #164 in Utica to market rank #56 in Rochester.  Although Jordan's bio doesn't appear on the station's website yet, announcements of her "arrival" were posted on the station's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

You may recall Jordan exited Kiss-FM after she refused a re-assignment from her midday shift to morning drive.  A day later, night host "Intern" Dave Wheeler publicly blamed back office turmoil for his decision to step down to part-time status, but Roser Communications Network management wouldn't have it -- they fired him a day later.

But Wheeler is also back on the air.  You may have recognized his voice as "Marty McFrog" during some weekend shifts at Regent's country Big Frog 104 (WFRG), or at AC sister Lite 98.7 (WLZW) using his real name, minus the "Intern" reference.  Wheeler tells he's very excited to be working for Regent, and notes his new photo (left) recently appeared on the WLZW website.
