UTICA -- Calling hours for longtime local radio host Joe Graziano are set for today (Tuesday) from 3-6pm at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes at 2222 Genesee Street. According to the Utica Observer-Dispatch, a Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life with military honors will follow the visitation. As reported earlier, Graziano died on Friday at the age of 74. He spent the last several years of his career hosting the Cuppa Joe Show on WRUN, and later on WUTQ/WADR.
Rest In Peace, Joe. He really enjoyed being on the air, you could tell he put everything into his programs. WADR/WUTQ now runs the computer from 9 AM until Hank Brown comes back on at 6 the next morning. They must not think anyone listens because they STILL run the liner that says Hank Brown 6 till 9, Joe Graziano 9 till noon. They need to replace the slot with someone who also likes the nostalgia format and who knows what the people want. The listener wants more than just music and a liner. Incidentally, WUTI has replaced their male announcer WUTI, Utica, with a female who now says "You're listening to 1150, WUTI, Utica. Clever!
