UTICA/ROME -- Locally-owned radio station owner Roser Communications Network could soon be growing: reports say a religious broadcaster has filed an application to sell a Herkimer-based FM translator to RCN for $30,000.
But that's not the only filing -- as reported by Tom Taylor on Radio-Info on Monday, Northeast Gospel Broadcasting has filed for permission to move W292CN from 106.3FM in Herkimer to 95.5FM. Taylor reports, "the translator would have its antenna in Utica" following the sale, though the FCC website lists Middleville as the community of license for the construction permit.
Right now, W292CN simulcasts WNGN from Argyle, New York (Washington County). For now, official filings say W292CN will continue to simulcast WNGN, but as Taylor points out, that could change (and we're guessing it will) after the sale closes.
