SYRACUSE -- At least four national recording artists will be coming to Syracuse for "Summer Crush 2010," a concert announced this morning on Clear Channel's Hot 107.9 (WWHT). The concert is set to take place at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter in August... and interestingly, one of the headliners was just in town a few weeks ago for a competing radio station's event.
Morning co-hosts Marty and Shannon gave away the first pair of tickets this morning as they announced the lineup for the show. Over the next few weeks, the station will be giving away more tickets, gradually working their way up from the 5th row to the front row as the concert date gets closer.
As listed on the Hot 107.9 website (which refers to the War Memorial as "the largest concert venue in Syracuse," though Syracuse University's Carrier Dome staff might beg to differ), the concert will feature New Boyz, Kevin Rudolf, Lloyd Banks and Iyaz. The concert is set to begin at 8pm on Friday, August 6th.
Iyaz was a "surprise special guest" earlier this month at "Summer Jam on the Island," hosted by Citadel's 93Q (WNTQ). But it may be worth noting that tickets for the 93Q event were only available through winning contests. While Hot 107.9 will also be giving away some tickets for free, the bulk of the seats are available for sale through Ticketmaster. There are three levels of pricing: $30, $35 and $40.
While your editor tries to surf the dial and the web in the hunt for news about local radio happenings, it's a tough task to keep track of 100+ stations in four markets. If there's something happening at your station, the best way to make sure we chronicle it is to email cnyradio@cnyradio.com or use the handy Contact Form.
"Over the next few weeks, the station be giving away more tickets."
Clearly you listen to too much Iyaz, or you might use proper grammar. Maybe you need a second editor.
Thanks for the note, the typo has been corrected.
