SYRACUSE -- After a variety of hosts have shared fill-in duties following the departure of Danny Parkins, we've learned Mike Lindsley will be taking over as permanent host for the midday show at sports-talk The Score 1260 (WSKO). He'll officially begin as host on May 2.
Citadel Ops Manager Tom Mitchell tells CNYRadio.com "Mike's a very knowledgeable and entertaining guy with a ton of passion for sports, and of course for The Score 1260."
Lindsley formerly worked across town for Clear Channel at the former SportsRadio 1260 (WHEN). It'll be two years ago this Sunday that Lindsley announced on Facebook that he walked away from Bridgewater Place for good after management cancelled his weekend Yankees-themed talk show, Pinstripe Passion.
Mitchell says Lindsley has already been working at Citadel for quite some time, spending most of his time in the sales department, and the remainder of his schedule as a play-by-play announcer and talk host. Among the latter duties, Lindsley has been hosting Weekend Wrap on Sunday mornings. Mitchell says this Sunday's show will be Lindsley's last so he can focus on preparing his new weekday show. Weekend Wrap will continue with a new host to be named later.
Our thanks to Tom Mitchell for sending along the news -- anytime there's something happening at your station, let us know! The email address is cnyradio@cnyradio.com -- same address for radio or TV.
Very weak hire by the folks at Citadel. I guess though nothing much else they could do but hire a guy from their sales dept. They have no budget, no chance to aquire better talent, or desire to put on a syndicated talker. Mike's a nice kid I guess, but really doesn't do much for the time slot. Had a chance to really do something locally vs ESPN and the other news talkers but fell flat here IMO. Well as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Weak hire is an understatement. Another business made a smart choice and these guys just decided to go back and beat the same dead horse. Content was never there and as a matter of talent? He has none.
