SYRACUSE -- ESPN Radio's Upon Further Review hasn't even officially debuted yet, and the show already has another new co-host. Former SU and NBA basketball star Derrick Coleman will join the show during basketball season.
According to Galaxy Communications, Coleman announced the new hosting gig last night during Syracuse University's "Midnight Madness" event, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Carrier Dome. Coleman played for SU from 1986 to 1990. The very first pick of the 1990 NBA draft, Coleman started his pro career with the New Jersey Nets, later playing for Philadelphia, Charlotte and Detroit through 2004.
Galaxy Communications CEO Ed Levine said in a statement, "Adding D.C. to the team adds another powerful dimension to the show."
Although Coleman won't join the program on a regular basis until December, he's scheduled to be the very first guest on Monday's debut show. Upon Further Review will air weekdays from 3-6pm on ESPN Radio 97.7 (W249BC) and 100.1 (W261AC). On Thursday, Galaxy announced the first two hours of the show will simulcast on WSYR-TV digital subchannel 9.2. That's channel 890 on Time Warner Cable and 470 for Verizon FiOS customers.
