Ex-WXHC Host Sonny King Seeking Radio Work

April 23, 2012 by

BINGHAMTON -- It's been a rough three years for Sonny King.  After being let go from Homer's Oldies 101.5 (WXHC) in 2009, he eventually helped to launch classic hits Big 107.5 (WBBI) in Binghamton.  But, today, King tells that Clear Channel has replaced his shift with a syndicated host.  He's hoping readers can help him find his next opportunity.

King says he "would like to stay in New York if possible," after getting word that today was his last day as part of the classic hits format he helped launch in 2010, when Clear Channel pulled the plug on the previous format, classic rock "The Bear."

According to the Big 107.5 website, King's replacement is Loo Katz, who does mornings for a number of similarly-formatted Clear Channel stations nationwide, based out of Washington, DC's WASH-FM.

King tells us he heard rumblings that the change "was coming sooner or later, and hoped for later."
