SYRACUSE -- Holly-FM (WNDR), the station that made national headlines by launching an all-Christmas format on the still-unbelievable date of October 5, is giving Santa and his Elves the day off tomorrow. From midnight to midnight, it'll be "Holly-ween FM" 95.3 and 103.9.
Station manager Sam Furco tells CNYRadio.com, "like All Hallow’s Eve, HOLLY-WEEN will last one day and one day only." The flash flip culminates with "the ultimate Holly-ween night," when the station runs commercial-free Halloween favorites from 6pm to midnight.
Then, the moment the calendar flips to November, it's back to wall-to-wall Christmas songs through the duration of the holiday season.
WNDR is owned locally by WOLF Radio, Inc and the station's website is http://hollyfm.com/.
#Syracuse we hope when it's back to #Christmas music that they'll add our "It's Christmas Time" to their rotation. #FPB
Is there going to be a flip to a one-day, commercial free 'Thanks-Holly' Day and play Adam Sandler's 'Thanksgiving Song' for 18 hours straight? My fingers are crossed.
What... no Alice's Restaurant?
"Station manager Sam Furco tells CNYRadio.com, “like All Hallow’s Eve, HOLLY-WEEN will last one day and one day only.” Umm...guess what? Christmas is ONE DAY, too. Not TWO MONTHS. Ridiculous commercialization.
