ITHACA -- Former Syracuse radio personality Dave Frisina is coming back to the airwaves in Central New York by way of his home studio in Florida. Today, Frisina announced his weekly show "Soulshine" will air on Ithaca's WVBR 93.5 starting this weekend.
The show features "Roots, Rock, Americana & Soul," normally running 3 hours on Sundays. But for the Ithaca station, Frisina says he will be providing "a special 1-hour version of the show," which will air Saturdays from 4-5pm. He adds, "WVBR was the first FM station I listened to when I was attending Cortland State in the 70s, and it's cool being a contributor to their lineup, all these years later."
Frisina debuted "Soulshine" in 2012, when he was working for the former 105.9 The Rebel Rocks. He continued to produce and stream the show on his own after his 2022 exit from Cumulus Media. Since then, the show has been picked up by Radio St. Pete in Florida and on The Edge Classic Rock, another streaming station, so even if you're not within range of WVBR's signal, you can still catch the show online through WVBR's website or one of the other streaming outlets.
