Galaxy drops bid for SU sports broadcasts

Galaxy Communications has decided not to pursue an earlier decision this year to wrestle 95X (WAQX) for radio broadcast rights to Syracuse University sports. Galaxy owner Ed Levine says without a decision by SU at this point, Galaxy wouldn't have enough time to put together an effective advertising and promotional campaign.

Former Syracuse television news anchor and investigative reporter Sheryl Nathans died yesterday in a Pennsylvania hospice.   Nathans, 55, who was diagnosed with incurable cancer two months ago, chose to "go quietly into the night" instead of fighting the disease with conventional treatments.
