Yahoo Radio is shutting down. The service which provides web streaming for hundreds of local radio stations will end its streaming of those stations within the week. In Syracuse that affects three stations owned by Citadel Communications: 93Q, 95X, and Lite 105.9. Yahoo plans to focus on Internet-only streaming including its own LaunchCast music service.
Gene Wolf, co-host of the long-running computer advice show Random Access, is heading south. Citing Central New York's sagging technology economy, Wolf plans to move to Florida by mid-summer to pursue business interests there.

After 27 years The Ackerley Group is no more. Clear Channel Communications, which completed its acquisition of the company on Friday, now has 12 months to divest itself of radio and/or television stations in five markets across the country in order to remain within federal ownership guidelines.
