UTICA/ROME -- Longtime local radio broadcaster Lloyd Walsh, perhaps best known for calling Colgate University football games on the former WRUN 1150, died this past Wednesday. Walsh was less than a month away from his 100th birthday, which would've been just after New Year's.
SYRACUSE -- Galaxy Media Partners, which owns radio stations in Syracuse and Utica, has named Carrie Veley is new Director of Development - Multi-Platform Strategies. The official press release from Galaxy follows:
OHIO -- Peter C. Cavanaugh, a former radio executive whose career started in 1957 at Syracuse's WNDR when he was still in high school, has died. Word comes via public social media posts by family members, along with at least one radio station report from Flint, Michigan, where he spent most of his career.
