UTICA/ROME — Dick Nellis, who worked at a number of Mohawk Valley stations including WLFH, WADR, WALY and WUTQ, has passed away.  Nellis, who also worked at stations in the Hudson Valley region south of Albany, was 70.

UTICA/ROME — You may remember reading here last week about big changes to the on-air branding of news/talker WIBX in Utica.  This week, the station unveiled a brand new logo to support those changes.

UTICA/ROME — Some slight confusion between two stations on adjacent frequencies has caused Arbitron to revise its audience estimates for the Utica-Rome market.  The revisions, due out Tuesday at 10:00am, are expected to result in higher numbers for adult standards B95.5/WUTQ/WADR.

UTICA/ROME — Roser Communications Network is looking for someone to run the board for its two Bug Country (WBGK/WBUG) stations.  The part-time position, mostly on weekends, involves shifts during remotes and football games.

Phil Stern, a talk host who had shows on WIBX and WTLB several years ago, has published his first book.  Stern says The Bull Years is about a radio talk show host.  The new book is offered as a digital download for Amazon Kindle owners, or anyone who has the Kindle app on their smartphone.

UTICA-ROME — Former longtime WOUR personality Alison, who exited the rock station’s lineup when it was sold from Clear Channel to Galaxy Communications in 2007, is now back on the radio.
