UTICA-ROME -- A little more than two years since the "God's Country" format appeared on local airwaves, the commercial-free network has disappeared from radio stations nationwide. Locally, 93.5 WOKR/Remsen has flipped to the Christian rock "Air1" network operated by Educational Media Foundation.
SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME -- With Halloween 2010 just barely into the history books, two local radio stations are already looking ahead to Christmas. OSWEGO -- Nearly 7 months after John Krauss retired as GM of the WRVO stations, SUNY Oswego has named his replacement. Dr. Michael S. Ameigh, a longtime professor and assistant provost at the college, has been tapped to become the NPR affiliate's third GM since it debuted in 1969.
UTICA-ROME -- Two of the three men who fell from a Smith Hill broadcast tower on Monday have been released from the hospital... and one of the workers has already returned to climb the tower again.

Updated throughout on 10/21 -- ALBANY -- Longtime Albany radio personality Joseph Motto -- better known as "Boom Boom Brannigan" -- has died. Before working in Albany radio between 1961 and 2004, the Utica native got his start at WTLB, where he used his real name on-air.
