According to the Drudge Report, Premiere Radio Networks and Rush Limbaugh have signed a deal that will keep “America’s Anchorman” on the air through the year 2016, and “the package is valued north of $400 million, according to media insiders.”

WSLU in Canton, the flagship of North Country Public Radio, has won five Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Excellence from the Radio & TV News Directors Association (RTNDA).  One of those went on to win a National-level Murrow.  The winners list was announced Tuesday.

Laura Ingraham’s syndicator, Talk Radio Network, tells affiliates she will be back on the air by Monday… after a long absence which — according to national radio columnist Tom Taylor — angered many affiliates.  Ingraham’s show is carried in Syracuse, Utica and Watertown.

If you’ve never heard of WBLH… don’t feel bad.  Neither have we!  But AllAccess.com reports Randy Michaels’ Radioactive, LLC has agreed to LMA and eventually sell the station to Intrepid Broadcasting.  So where exactly is WBLH?

A handful of Central New York’s radio newsrooms took home several titles from the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards this past weekend in Saratoga Springs.  In fact, the top award-winner was from CNYRadio.com territory.

According to radio-info.com, former local radio news anchor Matt DelSignore has landed an anchor job at the legendary KDKA in Pittsburgh.  DelSignore most recently worked for Clear Channel’s WGY in Albany.  Before that, he worked at sister station WSYR in Syracuse and then-Regent’s WTNY in Watertown.

An unfortunate explanation for radio legend Paul Harvey’s extended time away from the broadcast booth over the past several weeks.  His wife, Lynne, passed away Saturday morning at the age of 92.  According to ABC News, Lynne Harvey had been battling leukemia for about a year.  Paul Harvey’s syndicated content can be heard locally on

The Mars Hill Network of Christian stations, based in Syracuse, says live performances from local musicians, on-the-road reports, and a free concert with a nationally-known Christian recording artist will be among the highlights of “Careathon ’08.” The three-day long fundraising effort is set to begin next Thursday.
