SYRACUSE -- The folks in the WOLF Radio, Inc. building on West Kirkpatrick Street have fired another salvo across Onondaga Creek to the Clear Channel cluster on Plum Street. This time, they're taking DJ S-1 from the Hot 107.9 (WWHT) air staff and adding him to the roster at MOViN' 100.3 (WMVN).
ITHACA/CORTLAND -- Progressive Talk 1470 (WNYY) has added Free Talk Live with Mark and Ian to their lineup for one hour, weeknights at 9pm. The show will also air Saturdays from 9pm to midnight. The show describes itself as "talk radio that ANYONE can take control of ... about Liberty with a capital L."
SYRACUSE -- We're a little late with catching up on April Fools Day here at CNYRadio.com HQ... but we wanted to make sure we took a moment to make note of local stations that pulled off clever gags. So far, the one we've heard about was on 93Q (WNTQ), where the Ted & Amy morning show heard from plenty of irate parents after devoting heavy airtime on Thursday to a bogus pediatric plastic surgery office in DeWitt.

SYRACUSE -- Anytime you head to the supermarket over the next several weeks, check out the magazine racks and chances are good you'll see Sunny 102 (WZUN) "Big" Mike Fiss smiling at you. He's on the cover of the April/May edition of "55 Plus" magazine.
CAZENOVIA -- The radio broadcasting class at Cazenovia High School has announced the lineup for a fundraising concert on April 10th. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the school's newly formed Communications Scholarship.

ITHACA -- She was one of the first women to broadcast news on the radio, during World War II. And that's just one of many accomplishments Betty Allinger achieved during her time at Utica's WIBX, and through her heavy involvement with a long list of community organizations outside of the workplace. Betty Allinger died over the weekend in Ithaca. She was 93. Calling hours are set for this afternoon in Utica, and a Funeral Mass is set to take place tomorrow morning in New Hartford.
SYRACUSE -- Jason Benetti is the new primary play-by-play radio announcer for the 2010 season of Syracuse Chiefs baseball action. The team also recently announced it has renewed its deal to have the games broadcast on Clear Channel's Sportsradio 620 WHEN. And the broadcast team will have some special guests to celebrate the Chiefs' 50th anniversary.
SYRACUSE -- Two more pro sports adds to the lineup at The New ESPN Radio (WTLA/WSGO). The stations, which include the two AMs and two FM translators (97.7 and 100.1) will be carrying all Boston Red Sox games this season, as well as The Masters Tournament.
PITTSBURGH -- Former WRVO and WSYR news staffer Maria Leaf was among an unknown number of cuts at the CBS Radio cluster in Pittsburgh on Friday. Leaf had been working at news/talker KDKA since 2007. Leaf's putting out the word that she's looking for her next opportunity.
