Radio veteran John "Jack" Hessmiller dies

SYRACUSE -- Former WAER-FM sportcaster and WOLF 1490 news reporter John "Jack" Hessmiller, Jr., has died. An obituary published today reports the former broadcaster passed in May at the age of 58, following an illness. A memorial service is planned for August 3.

Newhouse to name upgraded studios after broadcast icon Dick Clark

SYRACUSE -- When Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications finishes its $18 million overhaul of its "Newhouse 2" building, the studios within will be named after Dick Clark.  The widow of the legendary broadcaster announced the honor during Newhouse's annual Mirror Awards on Wednesday.
