SYRACUSE — The man known as “Producer Bill” on WSYR’s The Jim Reith Show will be getting into the limelight this weekend — with a principle role in Jesus Christ Superstar tonight and tomorrow at the Onondaga County Civic Center’s Crouse-Hinds Theater.

SYRACUSE — When local blues musician Roosevelt Dean died from cancer last week at 65, at least two local radio stations made a marked effort to observe the passing of a talented legend.

Governor David A. Paterson was all over Central New York today — both physically, and on the radio.  Here at CNYRadio.com HQ, we counted no less than three stations where the Governor provided live interviews today.

SYRACUSE — Two years and a day after Don Imus was fired by CBS Radio for making racist remarks on the air, the nationally-syndicated morning man will be returning to his former Syracuse affiliate, SportsRadio 620 WHEN.

SYRACUSE — Hot 107.9 (WWHT) has announced it’s bringing Universal Motown recording artist Serani to town for a concert next week.

SYRACUSE — The days of Hot AC on the 105.1 signal out of DeRuyter could be limited; Aloha Stations Trust, LLC has sold WWDG to local owner Craig Fox… in a deal reportedly worth $1.25 million.  (Updated 3/7 at 7:00pm)

SYRACUSE — 93Q and Hot 107.9 are catching the attention of the local news media, for openly asking listeners if they should consider pulling songs by Chris Brown off their playlists. The 19-year-old star hasn’t been charged, but is being investigated for allegedly assaulting girlfriend and fellow star Rihanna.

SYRACUSE — For at least the second year in a row, the morning show crew at B104.7 (WBBS) has received a nomination for the Academy of Country Music awards.  And a programmer who used to work in Utica and Watertown gets a nomination for his current station in Albany.

SYRACUSE — It’s been five years since Marty & Shannon were teamed up as morning hosts on Hot 107.9 (WWHT).  They celebrated last weekend with a big party at the FunJunction in Cicero.

WATERTOWN — For the first time since Fall 2004, Arbitron has lifted its embargo on the Persons 12+ numbers for the Watertown market.  One thing that clearly hasn’t changed since 2004: country music is still king in the North Country.
