SYRACUSE -- It's been a big question for TV stations all over the country: what will you air when Oprah goes away? In Syracuse, that question is now definitively answered. ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) will replace Winfrey's 4pm hour-long timeslot with one of her own spinoffs: The Dr. Oz Show.
SYRACUSE -- Top journalists from Syracuse and surrounding markets gathered for the Syracuse Press Club's 33rd annual Scholarship and Professional Recognition Awards Dinner last night at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. Public stations WRVO and WAER dominated the radio categories, while there were plenty of ties for winners in the television categories.

SYRACUSE -- The winners for this year's Syracuse Press Club awards have been announced. On the radio side, public broadcasters led the pack. In TV, it's a neck-and-neck race between WSYR-TV and WSTM-TV. And we're also very happy to report CNYRadio.com appears on the award list as well.
SYRACUSE -- Anyone who works inside TV knows "enhanced widescreen" isn't the same thing as true high-definition, but the folks at CNY Central (the trio comprised of WSTM, WTVH and WSTQ-LP) are still hoping their new "enhanced widescreen" newscasts, debuting today, will turn some heads. SYRACUSE -- According to the Syracuse Press Club, the 10pm newscast on CW6 (WSTQ-LP) will expand from 30 minutes to a full hour starting tonight. SPC says Lisa Spitz will join Matt Mulcahy as producer and co-anchor.
