Local modern rock acts Tread, Earth Crisis, and Gridley Paige along with ten other bands are part of a new compilation CD being put together by K-Rock's midday air personality "Silent Bob" Staffa. Native Noise celebrates Staffa's local-music radio show Backstage Live, broadcast Thursdays at 11 p.m.

The FCC has approved a change in the city of license from Oswego to Granby for Galaxy Communications station WTKV 105.5 FM. The new transmitter location will be along Lakeshore Road, just west of Route 176 and just south of Fulton. TK-105 simulcasts TK-99's classic rock programming broadcast out of Galaxy's new Armory Square studios.
Longtime Syracuse morning man Big Mike Fiss is scheduled to return to the airwaves next Monday, September 24. Fiss, who parted company with Y94FM last week, takes over morning show duties at Sunny 102, after Bill Baker was let go earlier in the month.
