Updated 7:10pm -- UTICA-ROME -- The fans spoke, and Galaxy listened. After being fired last Friday, longtime radio sportscaster Ed O'Brien is back on the payroll at Galaxy Communications. That's according to Galaxy CEO/President Ed Levine this morning.
UTICA-ROME -- Former Oldiez 96 (WODZ) morning man Bob Cain is back on the radio. He's followed fellow former Townsquare Media personalities Gene Conte and Fred Miller over to the ESPN Radio stations, owned by Syracuse-based Galaxy Communications.
UTICA-ROME -- It's the latest volley in what might possibly be a brewing "sports talk radio war" in the Mohawk Valley. The ESPN Radio Utica-Rome AM trimulcast (WTLB/WIXT/WRNY) has finally made its long-awaited expansion to the FM side of the dial.
UTICA/ROME -- The long-anticipated arrival of ESPN Radio on the FM dial in Utica is a step closer to reality. The FCC recently approved a request to move translator W256AJ from the roof of Hotel Utica to a more advantageous perch atop Smith Hill.
