SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME — No, they haven’t flipped formats, and yes, they’re still playing modern rock. The new “10:00 News” at Galaxy’s KROCK stations (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL) is an hour-long showcase of new music every weeknight.

SYRACUSE/UTICA — The three-station KROCK family has unveiled the concert lineup and ticket details for its third-annual Dysfunctional Family Barbecue, set to take place Memorial Day weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE — Galaxy’s KROCK (WKRL/WKRH) is staging a special Inauguration Ball concert on January 20, complete with local and national performers.

“Nixon Elected.”  Less than three weeks after former K-Rock (WKRL/WKRH/WKLL) PD/middayer Ty announced she’d be leaving for a new job Baltimore, Galaxy Communications has announced the hiring of her replacement. 

K-Rock middayer and acting PD “Ty” has accepted a new job in Baltimore, according to the national trades.  She’ll be doing middays at alternative rocker Channel 104.3 (WCHH).  In addition to the on-air shift, she’ll serve as APD and MD for the Clear Channel station.

This edition of Picture of the Week is a no-brainer… we had to get something from K-Rockathon XIII, held last Saturday at the Cayuga County Fairgrounds in Weedsport.

K-Rockathon XIII was held this past weekend at the Cayuga County Fairgrounds in Weedsport.  Reporter Gavin Strube of the Auburn Citizen reported the event was sold out at 12,000+ and everything went smoothly, despite a handful of people being ejected from the premises for starting fights.
