SYRACUSE — Following the news that husband and wife Niko Tamurian and Farah Jadran are leaving CNYCentral, there’s word on at least one replacement. The cluster housing NBC3 (WSTM), CBS5 (WTVH) and CW6 (WSTM-DT 3.2) says Tommy Sladek will take over as Sports Director. There’s also more details on where Tamurian is headed next.

SYRACUSE — While many of us see a new year as a clean slate, a New Year’s Eve transmitter outage at CBS5 (WTVH) will continue “for several days” into 2014, the station announced today.  Until the main 5.1 transmitter returns to service, over-the-air viewers can catch CBS programming on WSTM digital subchannel 3.3.

SYRACUSE — The “shared services agreement” that brought CBS5 (WTVH) under the same roof as NBC3 (WSTM-TV) and CW6 (WSTQ-LP) could be ending in 2017.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, which recently closed on its purchase of former WSTM/WSTQ parent Barrington Broadcasting, says it’s not interested in renewing the deal Barrington had with WTVH’s owner.

SYRACUSE — It appears Sinclair Broadcast Group has officially closed on its purchase of NBC3 (WSTM-TV) and CW6 (WSTQ-LP).  Although the change hasn’t been made on the FCC’s own website just yet, the new ownership became on-air official at the close of tonight’s 6pm news on NBC3.
