UTICA-ROME — Longtime Mohawk Valley radio listeners might remember him from his time on multiple stations including 96.9 WOUR, K-Rock and the former Rock 107. “Hard Rock Harry” Enea died after a battle with cancer, according to public Facebook posts from his family.

UTICA — Congratulations to “Genesee” Joe Trisolino, who marked 30 years working in local radio today. Along with being the guest of honor at a listener appreciation party, the station manager and afternoon host at 92.7 The Drive (WXUR) received various official accolades marking the occasion.

UTICA/ROME — Classic rocker 92.7 The Drive (WXUR) is getting ready to move on up… to new studios and offices currently under construction upstairs from the Arjuna Broadcasting station’s current facilities.  That and more from the station tonight, as we catch up on items missed during your editor’s summer hiatus.

UTICA-ROME — Longtime local radio personality Jerry “The Doctor” Kraus has a new full-time job. Although it’s expected he’ll keep his weekend gig at 92.7 The Drive (WXUR), Kraus has just been named Executive Director of the Stanley Center for the Arts.

SYRACUSE — The crew at the syndicated “Bob and Tom” morning show, heard locally on Cumulus Media’s 105.9 The Rebel (WXTL), has produced a song to cheer on the Syracuse Orange as they continue to advance through the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

UTICA-ROME — Just a little over a week since the Mohawk Valley was jolted by a deadly shooting rampage, an unprecedented effort by local broadcasters.  Journalists and disc jockeys set competition aside to help raise money for community organizations that are helping victims of the horrific events of March 13.

Updated 5:15pm — UTICA-ROME — After nearly 21 years with 96.9 WOUR, afternoon drive host “Genesee Joe” Trisolino handed in his notice last night.  Today, it was announced he’s joining the staff at 92.7 The Drive (WXUR), effective immediately.

UTICA-ROME — Longtime Mohawk Valley residents might remember him as a car salesman who appeared from a high perch in TV ads, or as a radio personality on a number of local stations. Frank McBride, who most recently worked at 92.7 The Drive (WXUR) has passed away at the age of 54.
