95X has a new program director, and like the other rock stations in town, it's a lady that's running the show. Alexis, a 13-year veteran of the active rock station, slides into the slot left vacant by Bob O'Dell's exit in August. She also picks up the 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive on-air shift.
Station operations manager Tom Mitchell said that after a two-month search, Alexis emerged as the strongest candidate. According to Mitchell, "She has the vision and leadership qualities needed to take 95X where it needs to go."
That makes for a 'chick hat trick' of sorts as the other two rock stations in town are also programmed by women: Abbie Weber at K-Rock (WKRL/WKRH) and Erin Bristol at New Rock 105 (WWDG).
Also, the station's midday jock, Ryno, picks up assistant program director and music director honors.
95X has also solidified its weekday on-air lineup: Ryno stays put at middays, while Matt Jacobs moves to evenings, replacing Spyder who was with the station for only five months, and Drew Murray holds down the fort during overnights along with morning show producer duties.
