Lite 105.9 (WLTI) morning news anchor Dee Collins is saying goodbye to radio.
Collins, who has worked at many stations in the Syracuse market since her first gig as WSEN's afternoon jock in 1985, is leaving her current position at Metro Networks to work in sales at Westwood One's satellite services division.
A native of Queens, Dee settled in Syracuse more than 15 years ago after graduating from SUNY Oswego and spending a couple of years at WKLX in Rochester. In addition to her work on the air, she also served as promotions director at 570 WSYR and manager of Sybercuse.com.
On and off the air Collins has worked to raise awareness of autism; she and her husband, Mark, have a son with the condition. That effort will continue through her website SyracuseAutism.com.
Collins' last day on the air is this Friday.
