It looks like Arbitron has chosen to remain tight-lipped about the ratings for the Watertown (market rank #281) and Ithaca-Cortland (#285) markets. According to radio-info.com's ratings page, Arbitron has withheld numbers for both markets for the Spring 2008 survey.
As we noted last month, the public P12+ numbers for both markets have been embargoed since the Fall 2004 surevey. When we asked Arbitron what the deal was, they refused to comment on how much longer the embargo will last, or why the numbers were embargoed in the first place.
Just within the past week, Arbitron lifted embargoes in Syracuse (#82) and Utica-Rome (#162), revealing P12+ ratings for the Spring 2008 survey from both markets. Outside observers had been left in the dark on the Utica-Rome ratings since Spring 2005; and the Syracuse ratings since Fall 2006.
