A couple of "insiders" at Regent's Utica-Rome cluster tell CNYRadio.com we can expect to see some interesting talent lineup changes, as the cluster fills two vacancies we first told you about last month. The switcheroo includes the return of one personality who left the market a few years ago.
We're told longtime Production Director Geoff Storm's replacement will be Mike Walsh, a name you may remember from two different formats on the same station across town -- the former country Bob 102.5 (then-WRBY) and hot AC Mix 102.5 (WUMX), when it was owned by Clear Channel.
As for Big Frog 104 (WFRG) midday personality Meredith McGreen's replacement, Regent is doing an internal transfer. Lite 98.7 (WLZW) midday host Greg McShea will slide over to the Big Frog. Even though he's not listed on Big Frog 104's website yet, he's already been removed from the Lite 98.7 on-air lineup.
Lite 98.7's website doesn't list any midday personality as of press time, but we're told another internal transfer will fill that position. Longtime former WLZW middayer Trudy is rumored to be returning to her former air shift. Just a few months after celebrating 10 years with the station, Trudy left WLZW in 2003 and had been working at Regent's Albany cluster since then.
