UTICA/ROME — It’s one of the many ways local broadcast radio gives back to the community.  The 11th annual Children’s Miracle Network radiothon on Lite 98.7 (WLZW) raised $29,000 over a two-day period this week.  Every single dollar raised will directly benefit pediatric and maternity services at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica.

Updated 8/1 – UTICA-ROME — Lite 98.7 (WLZW) raised more than $25,000 during its 10th annual Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon, held Thursday and Friday.  Proceeds will benefit children’s services at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica.

UTICA-ROME — Regent AC Lite 98.7 (WLZW) is in the midst of its 9th annual Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon. They’re live at St. Luke’s Hospital today and tomorrow, raising money to benefit hospital’s pediatric and maternity services.

Following up on an earlier story, we’ve noticed Lite 98.7 has announced Trudy’s first day back at WLZW will be this coming Monday, August 25.  She replaces Greg McShea, who slides over to the midday shift at Regent’s country station, Big Frog 104.

A couple of “insiders” at Regent’s Utica-Rome cluster tell CNYRadio.com we can expect to see some interesting talent lineup changes, as the cluster fills two vacancies we first told you about last month.  The switcheroo includes the return of one personality who left the market a few years ago.

After ten years at Lite 98.7 (WLZW), Trudy is moving on. The popular midday personality told listeners last week that she was recently married, and that her husband’s job requires that they move out of the area.

This Sunday marked Trudy’s 10-year anniversary with Utica’s Lite 98.7 (WLZW). The station surprised her on the air Friday morning with a 10-minute montage featuring greetings from current staff members as well as past WLZW personalities including Randy Jay, Jeanne Ashley, and J.P. Hastings.
