WHCU's Dunn & Veiser Go to Washington

January 19, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

ITHACA/CORTLAND -- Saga's WHCU is sending Geoff Dunn and Dave Vieser to Washington, DC to provide live coverage of the inauguration of Barack Obama tomorrow.  To the best of our knowledge, they're the only local reporters in CNYRadio.com territory making the trip.

The "Morning Newswatch" duo will broadcast their regular 6-9am show live from Washington, and they'll return to the airwaves again from 11am to 1pm to broadcast the inauguration ceremony live.

“Its unusual for a market our size to be able to send a news team to cover an event like this”, says Susan Johnston, Cayuga Radio Group General Manager. “Thanks to the creativity of Dave Vieser and Geoff Dunn, and our sponsors, we were able to make this happen.”

If you can't be near a radio during the special broadcasts, there will be podcasts and a blog available at whcu870.com.  Dunn and Vieser will also provide reports for Saga's other Ithaca/Cortland market stations.
