UTICA/ROME - Less than a year after "The Game" stations (WTLB/WRNY/WIXT) added the syndicated "Costas on the Radio" show to their lineup, Costas has announced he's leaving radio, to devote more time to his TV duties.
According to a recent Taylor On Radio-Info column, Costas has announced his last day on the radio will be May 31. That includes the two-hour weekend show, along with his weekday vignettes.
The three Galaxy AM stations added Costa's show and vignettes to their lineup last June.
Costas is a longtime sportcaster for NBC Sports, and recently added duties with the MLB Network. He says those duties are the reason he's walking away from radio -- and from HBO as well.
