SYRACUSE -- The folks in the WOLF Radio, Inc. building on West Kirkpatrick Street have fired another salvo across Onondaga Creek to the Clear Channel cluster on Plum Street. This time, they're taking DJ S-1 from the Hot 107.9 (WWHT) air staff and adding him to the roster at MOViN' 100.3 (WMVN).
You may have spotted the story on AllAccess last week, but their story was only partially correct. AllAccess had reported S-1 would be hosting the MOViN' Decades Mix on Friday nights. But the show, which devotes one hour each to music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, followed by hip hop classics, actually runs from 7p-midnight on Saturdays.
Wanting to make sure we weren't getting fooled by a late April Fools prank, we checked with station manager Sam Furco, who tells CNYRadio.com that DJ S-1 will be working at MOViN', and he will be there on Friday nights. But the Decades show will remain in place on Saturdays. Instead, Furco says DJ S-1 will be hosting "The Friday Night MOViN' Mix" from 10pm to midnight, following the Platinum Party Mix. Furco says the addition of S-1 "has nothing to do with MOViN' Decades on Saturday."
