SYRACUSE -- Three people who work in local television are among the winners of the Club Awards announced late last week by the Syracuse Press Club. They include an anchor from WSTM, a photographer from WSYR-TV and a producer from WCNY.
According to the SPC website, WSTM anchor Matt Mulcahy has been selected as one of two winners of the Gus Bliven-Joe Ganley-Mario Rossi Career Achievement Award. He'll share the award with recently retired Post-Standard restaurant critic Yolanda Wright.
Longtime channel 9 photog Eddie Jones will share in the Selwyn Kershaw Professional Standards Award. He and two men from the Post-Standard were named winners.
Last but not least, the SPC's newcomer award will go to Megan Hislop, a producer at WCNY-TV. The A. Brohmann Roth Newcomer Award is given to someone who has newly entered the field of journalism within the past three years.
The winners will receive their awards at the SPC's annual awards and scholarship dinner in May.
Winners for the Club Awards categories were nominated by their peers. Results for the competitive categories have not yet been announced.
