PITTSBURGH -- Former WSYR radio news anchor/reporter Matt DelSignore is moving to Washington, D.C., where he'll report for the same all-news startup where current WSYR news director Chris Barnes recently announced he's headed. CBS-owned WNEW 99.1 is set to launch its 24/7 news operation on January 19th.
Word of DelSignore's move comes by way of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In the Steel City, DelSignore has been anchoring newscasts at CBS-owned KDKA since 2008. The newspaper says his last day there will be January 16, meaning he'll only have a few days off to move, if he's due to begin at WNEW on launch day. KDKA morning news anchor Bill Rehkopf is also making the move to Washington.
Immediately prior to joining KDKA in 2008, DelSignore worked for Clear Channel’s WGY in Albany. Before that, he worked at sister station WSYR in Syracuse and then-Regent’s WTNY in Watertown.
