SYRACUSE -- Do you recognize the two broadcasters in this 1984 photo, taken inside 62-WHEN when it was located on Old Liverpool Road in Liverpool? As of last year, they're back in the same newsroom once again. One more clue: one of these people had a birthday yesterday.
It's none other than Dave Bullard and Christie Casciano, as seen on the WHEN tribute site, 62when.com. Casciano has been working at Syracuse ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) for years. Bullard joined the station this past fall, as the station's dayside assignment editor. By the way, it was Christie who celebrated a birthday yesterday... happy belated birthday, Christie!
Having had the honor of working with both of them myself, I know they're both good sports and hopefully they don't get too mad at me for reminding them of the existence of this classic photo. You can see more 62-WHEN photos from the 1970s through 1990 at 62when.com. (Added 7:30am -- We originally had the impression this was taken inside the newsroom, but Bill Pfohl commented on the CNYRadio.com Facebook page to let us know he recognized the setting as the assignment office, which was across the hall from the newsroom. We appreciate the clarification!)
