SYRACUSE -- For about 180 weekdays every year, Sunny 102.1 (WZUN) co-host Melissa Midgley goes directly from the studio to her "day job," teaching second grade at Solvay Elementary School. But when she walks out of Sunny's Armory Square studios this Monday, she'll be heading east instead of west -- to log some on-camera time at NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV).
Midgley's very proud co-host "Big Mike" Fiss writes in to tell us Midgley will be filling-in as a substitute co-host on the ABC affiliate's locally-produced mid-morning talk show, Bridge Street. Fiss says the station needed a co-host to fill-in for Caroline Gable on Monday, and the timing worked out, since Midgley doesn't have to teach on Monday -- schools are closed for Veteran's Day.
You can see Midgley alongside regular co-host Chris Brandolino for the full hour. Fiss says. "she'll be doing all the co-hosting stuff" including interviewing guests and helping out with a live cooking demonstration.
Bridge Street airs live in high-definition on WSYR-TV 9.1 weekday mornings at 10:00am. If you can't catch it then, the show is taped and rebroadcast (in standard definition) on WSYR-DT 9.2 at 8:00pm.
