SYRACUSE -- For the second time in a week, Sunny 102.1 (WZUN) morning man "Big Mike" Fiss has had the pleasure of debuting a new twist on a classic hit. This time, he has teamed up with Dennis Brogan -- or as he's more popularly known among fans -- The Dome Ranger. In case you haven't heard the new song on Sunny 102, we've got the audio here as well.
They're calling this one "The Orange Went Down to Georgia," which, as you've probably guessed, is based on the 1979 Charlie Daniels Band classic, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

SU-themed songs have been popular on local radio stations over the last couple of weeks. Previously, Fiss’ wake-up shift colleagues, Gomez and Dave from sister station TK99/105 (WTKW/WTKV) and 96.9 WOUR released a song based on “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. And a few days earlier, Cumulus Media’s 105.9 The Rebel debuted “Cutting Down the Nets,” a custom song produced by The Bob & Tom Show.
The Orange face the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night at 8:49pm (assuming the earlier Louisville/Wichita State game ends on-time). And if the Orange win, they'll face the winner of the earlier game for the national championship on Monday night. Plenty of local broadcasters have traveled to Atlanta to cover all of the action.
