93Q's Ted Long celebrates 45 years on the radio at 93Q in 2025

SYRACUSE -- Huge congratulations to Ted Long! As of today, April 12, Long been working in radio for exactly 45 years... all of it at top 40 station 93Q (WNTQ).

Colleagues surprised Long -- half of the station's long-running "Ted and Amy in the Morning" -- with balloons and a cake, captioned "Nobody could ever fill your shoes... or your pants!" The cake included a photo of Long holding up a pair of the much larger jeans he used to wear, prior to undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 2011.

The Ted & Amy 93Q Facebook page featured a live video from inside the studio, of the moment when co-host Amy Robbins and a parade of other colleagues surprised Long with the cake. And here are some photos afterward:

In 2013, when Ted & Amy celebrated 25 years on the air together, Long told CNYRadio.com, "I started pretty much right out of high school." Among many other accolades over their nearly 37 years waking up Central New York, the pair were inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Assocation Hall of Fame in 2019.
